TWO SIDES OF THE COIN FOR STARKORE CITY CREATION.

China has categorized cities in population magnitude as follows:-

First – the megacity category for 10 million plus people;

Second – very large cities with populations of between 5-10 million;

Third – Large cities of population of between 1 – 5 million;

Fourth – mid-sized cities population between 500,000 – 1 million people;

Fifth  – small cities a population less than 500,000.

Population numbers such as these for describing city size however does little to discriminate other things mandatory in city urban growth and change. Nor does it bring into being the sustainability support functions that must be considered. Least of all it does not describe population settlements in a balanced indigenous ecological environment. Most of all it ignores a future transportation technology that offers better and less polluting flows of people and goods required to integrate all these cities together to reach one another for peace, prosperity and liberty.

Maybe the thinking should introduce a new transportation technology that has extraordinary flow capacities, is less expensive to construct per mile when compared against road/freeways, rail, airways and shipping ways; uses less energy to move people and goods per mile; is benign to polluting the quality of our air environment; is unaffected by climate; is a point to point system for on-time deliveries and advances speed safely thus reducing time and distance for travel.

Such a mobility system has been invented and is beginning to be prototyped. It still however faces the forces of a complicit dumbed down political system, corporate greed and academic numbness to reality.  This small visionary advance needs to be tested further as it has the potential to transform travel and transportation globally to heal the planet earth, dispel boundaries and eliminate trade constrictions.

So what should the common principles be to consider this vision for the international multitudinous job creation?

The questions to be asked: –

WHY REBUILD VILLAGES, TOWNS AND CITIES IN THE SAME PLACE AFTER EARTHQUAKES, HURRICANES AND FLOODS?

WHY SPEND RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT ON GEO-ENGINEERING SOLUTIONS THAT GO AGAINST THE PRINCIPLES OF NATURE?

WHAT IF ALL ELECTRICAL GADGETS OPERATED FRUGALLY IN THEIR USE OF ENERGY?

WHAT ABOUT TURNING OFF ALLTHE PUBLIC LIGHTS GLOBALLY AFTER 9.00 PM AT NIGHT?

WHY IS ELECTRICAL ENERGY GENERATION AND TRANSMISSION AND STORAGE NOT ADVANCED TO SERVICE THE GLOBAL MAJORITY?

WHY ARE CITIES LIKE BARCELONA OPPOSING MASS TOURISM?

WHY IS “FARMERS INSURANCE” THREATENING ILLINOIS LOCALITIES OF FAILING TO PREPARE FOR CLIMATE CHANGE?

WHY IS HISTORIC RAIL THOUGHT OF AS A FUTURE TRAVEL MODE?

WHY IS THE CHINESE GOVERNMENT INSTITUTING ETT MAGLEV TO LINK BEIJING, TIANJIN AND HEBEI PROVINCE INTO A SINGLE MEGALOPOLIS, THE SO CALLED JING-JI-JI REGION AS URBANIZATION FOR THE FUTURE?

WHY IS AMERICA DECLINING AND NOT TAKING THE INTIATIVE TO LEAD NATIONS INTO A GOOD COLLABORATIVE TRANSPORTATION FUTURE?

WHY DOES USA GOVERNMENT NOT INSTITUTE A NEW VALUE ON USERS OF INFRASTRUCTURE TO SERVE THE VARIETY OF BUILDING FACILITY FUNCTIONS FOR FUTURE STRUCTURAL CHANGES IN TECHNOLOGY ADOPTION?

WHY IS GOVERNMENT’S VIEW PERPETUATED BY ECONOMIC FACTORS ONLY? IT IS BEST SUMMED UP IN A FEW SHORT PHRASES BY RONALD REAGAN: IF IT MOVES, TAX IT. IF IT KEEPS MOVING, REGULATE IT. AND IF IT STOPS MOVING, SUBSIDIZE IT.

WHY IS IT THAT THIS PRESENT GENERATION DOES NOT SEE THE DESPARATE NEED FOR A NEW TRANSPORTATION AND SUSTAINABLE CITY DESIGN REVOLUTION?

WHY DOES ONE NEED TO MAKE A PEACEFUL REVOLUTION POSSIBLE, TO ELIMINATE VIOLENT REVOLUTIONS?

WHY NOT INCREASE BUILDING DENSITY?

WHY NOT APPLY 3D MIXED USE TO ALL ZONING?

WHY NOT REDUCE DISTANCES BETWEEN DAILY FUNCTIONS?

WHY NOT INTRODUCE MIXED USE 3D MOBILITY SYSTEMS? (PEDESTRIAN, BICYCLE, “MOPOD” tm  AND CAPSULE)

WHY NOT APPLY A NEW SOCIAL STRUCTURE TO VILLAGE FORMATION?

WHY NOT CONCEIVE GROWTH AND EXPANSION INCREMENTALLY FROM VILLAGES TO TOWNS AND CITIES DIFFERENTLY?

WHY NOT ALLOW FUTURE TRANSPORTATION MODES TO LINK INTRACITY AND INTERCITY MODES TOGETHER? (LOCAL TO REGIONAL TO NATIONAL TO INTERNATIONAL)

WHY NOT ESTABLISH CITIES IN A SUBSTANTIATED MACRO/MICRO ECOLOGY?

WHY NOT APPLY SOLAR/WIND ENERGY APPLICATIONS TO EACH DWELLING AND/OR BUSINESS?

WHY NOT ADOPT THE “SOLAR CHIMNEY” AS A MAJOR BACK-UP FOR ELECTRICITY GENERATION?

WHY NOT SELECT A CITY SETTLEMENT SITE WITH A CONSISTENT YEAR ROUND UNFAILING NATURAL WATER SUPPLY?

WHY NOT ARRANGE A 3 TIER AGRICULTURAL SYSTEM TO ALLOW FOR FOOD PRODUCTION?

WHY NOT PROVIDE A PROPORTION OF LAND-USE TO VILLAGES, TOWNS AND CITIES, AGRICULTURE AND FOREST/PLANTATION TO CLEANSE THE AIR?

WHY NOT ARRANGE ORIENTATION OF LIVABLE/SAFE STRUCTURES TO SOLAR FOR POWER AND HEAT GAIN?

WHY NOT USE GROUND TEMPERATURES FOR COOLING OF STRUCTURES?

WHY NOT USE AIR FLOW FOR AIR-CONDITIONING OF STRUCTURES?

WHY NOT ADVANCE THE CHEMISTRY APPLICATIONS OF NEW BUILDING MATERIALS?

WHY NOT ADOPT A LAND PLANNING NETWORK THAT BIOMIMICS A SNOWFLAKE?

WHY NOT ALLOW FOR A LINKED NETWORK OF “GREEN SPACES”?

WHY NOT MODEL PRINCIPLE HUMAN INPUT AND OUTPUT MEASURES AS NEEDS FOR INDIVIDUALS AND FAMILIES?

WHY NOT ESTABLISH MEASURED PRINCIPLES TO SUPPLY CLEAN AIR, WATER, FOOD/FIBRE, ENERGY AND MOBIITY FOR THE PROPOSED PERMANENT RESIDENT POPULATION IN SPECIFIC GEOGRAPHIES?

WHY NOT ALLOW FOR A SPECIFIC PROPORTION OF THE TOTAL POPULATION FOR TEMPORARY MIGRATIONAL OR TEMPORARY RESIDENTS?

WHY NOT ADOPT A METHOD TO RECORD CONTINUOUS COMMUNITY DECISION MAKING?

WHY NOT PLACE A CAP ON THE POPULATION OF THE CITY TO BALANCE ITSELF WITH NATURE INSIDE A PRESCRIBED MACRO/MICRO GEOGRAPHY OF NATURAL RESOURCES?

WHY NOT EVALUATE SPECIFIC TECHNOLOGIES FOR THEIR APPROPRIATE FUTURE APPLICATIONS THAT ENHANCE URBAN VALUE TO SUPPORT VILLAGES, TOWNS AND CITIES?

WHY NOT UTILIZE GOOD STORY TELLING AND MOVIE MAKING AS AN INSTRUMENT FOR FUTURE SETTLEMENT PRESENTATIONS?

WHY NOT REDUCE AREAS FOR EXISTING “BLACK TOP” AND STRUCTURED PARKING FOR VEHICLES?

WHY NOT REDUCE LAND AREAS GIVEN TO EXISTING ROADWAY/FREEWAY NETWORKS AND UTILITY CORRIDORS?

WHY NOT ADOPT A NEW SERVICABLE UNDERGROUND UTILITY SYSTEM?

WHY NOT MAKE MOST THINGS SMALL AND LIGHTER TO FIT TOGETHER IN SCALAR HARMONY AND VOLUME FOR SHIPPED PACKAGES INTO A LOGISTICAL SERVICE FRAMEWORK FOR DELIVERY OF HABITATION OBJECTS?

WHY NOT SET AN ULTIMATE CITY SIZE THAT IS GOVERNABLE FROM A VILLAGE, TOWN AND CITY PERSPECTIVE?

WHY NOT SET A CAP ON THE POPULATION OF A CITY IN A UNIQUE  ECOLOGICAL ENVIRONMENT OF NATURAL RESOURCES AND MINERAL ABUNDANCE?

WHY NOT CREATE AN ALTERNATIVE GOVERNING SYSTEM VIA DEVOLUTION FROM EXISTING PATTERNS?

WHY NOT ACCEPT A UNIVERSAL STANDARD OF MEASURES, MONETARY EXCHANGES AND A FREE TRADE SYSTEM FOR PEACE, PROSPERITY AND LIBERTY?

Let us answer all these questions logically and rationally with a fresh and thoughtful urban design in mind. Would this challenge be an appropriate program to design such a future for human survival on earth? Would it create a mutual respect for the forces of Nature and resolve mans current disrespect for organic relationships?
