ET3 and Starkore Cities

These  urban designs of villages, towns and cities start with a clear delineation of human principles.

Calculations are made for a model “input” that formulates the quantities measured for clean air, water, food and fiber, communications and energy requirements per person and for a specific family size. Likewise calculations are made for a model of  “output” that formulates the quantities measured for waste liquid, solid, sewerage, gaseous, bio, thermal, communication and energy.

In addition careful consideration is given to the prevailing proposed site latitude/longitude position, as well as, the geographic, ecologic, topographic, geologic, elevation above sea level, as well as seismic faults and other natural hazardous conditions. The sunny, rainy and windy days data is also measured as a part of the urban design program criteria.

The goal is first to design utilities flows for people and goods. The second is to calculate the proportional facility requirements for land and volumetric areas for pathways to give access to the varieties of spatial enclosures.

The objectives in general applied to land planning are numerous.

To insert a new movement system that serves local and global access from point to point.

To gather facilities in adjacencies on the basis of a pedestrian system of distance that encourages walking for health.

To design smaller and a great variety of compact clusters of homes for a lesser urban footprint on the land.

To create a three tiered integration of agriculture into the pattern of facilities to shorten the distance between foods grown in nearby soils to plate for sustenance.

To shorten the service distance to supply necessary resources as well as to extract the waste for recycling. 

To create a settlement that collapses time and distance to and from most livelihood activities.

To minimize utility distribution distances thus reducing material and energy utilities.

To adopt a proportion of 50/50 land use area for building footprint to “green space” as a network that is both productive and recreational in its connection to surrounding poly-culture and forestry area.

To create a population group in a spatial area that forms and sustains a connectedness as a social community.

To create multi-use silos for MoPod™ parking, solar energy generation and storage of valuables such as seeds.

To ensure that solar orientation of facilities acknowledges sunlight penetration and passive airflow through livable space.

The most important factor in understanding when a better measure of urban design has been accomplished is to evaluate that true and long-lived creation must reach the following realities.

Creation starts with the intelligence of self-knowledge.

Creation begins with love that communicates and evolves without limitations.

Creation must exhibit properties of life.

Creation must be life sustaining.

Creation must be life extending.

Creation of “sustainability” is to have the ability to repair and renew the form of an object endlessly by using the natural laws of regeneration, transformation and evolution.

Now is this not a challenge to all of us who have the capabilities to create places for villages, towns and cities. After all are we not all organic and need to adopt a role to balance our activities on this earth to maintain balance with Nature? It is all we have to do. Let us do it meaningfully to the best of our abilities.
